Obituary of Viola K. Kerly

Viola K. Kerly, 95, of Langhorne, PA, passed away Sunday, October 31, 2021 at the St. Mary's Hospital in Langhorne. Mrs. Kerly was born in Perth Amboy to the late Andrew and Helen Nagyiski and had previously lived in Sewaren before moving to Langhorne twenty years ago. Viola graduated from Woodbridge Senior High School and was on the cheerleading squad, where she made many lifelong friends. She worked at SeaLand Corporation (CSX) where she also made lifelong friends. When she moved to Pennsylvania and worked at Sesame Place, she loved working with the teenagers and was the "Grandmother" to all. She also worked at Talbotts and later volunteered at St. Mary's Medical Center in Langhorne, in the orthopedic unit. Viola was predeceased by her beloved husband John in 1999, and also by her dear siblings William "Buddy " Nagyiski and MaryAnn DeBartolo. Surviving are her son: Gregory J. Kerly and wife Margaret of South Boston, VA., her daughter: Christine M. Kerly and husband Christopher Mersman of Washington Crossing, PA, her sister: Mildred D'Amato of Edison, two grandsons; Jeremey and wife Elizabeth, Justin and one granddaughter Angie, and also many loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday 9:15 am at the Mitruska Funeral Home, Inc., 531 New Brunswick Ave., Fords. Followed by a 10:30 am mass in the St. Anthony of Padua Church in Port Reading. Interment will follow in the Our Lady of Hungary Cemetery in Fords. Visitation hours will be held Friday from 9:00 am until 10 am. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial donations be made to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
