Obituary of Carolyn H. Carney

Carolyn H. Carney, 83, of Hopelawn, passed away Friday, February 17, 2017 at the Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy. Mrs. Carney was born in Perth Amboy to the late Carl and Helen (Hanko) Kuzma and had previously lived in Carteret before moving to Hopelawn fifty five years ago. She was employed by the Middlesex County Election Board in Perth Amboy for eleven years before retiring in 1997. She was a member of the Good Shepherd Parish - Holy Spirit Church, Perth Amboy. Carolyn is survived by her loving husband of sixty years, Edward P. Carney, her son, Jeffrey Carney and his fiancé Elizabeth of Woodbridge, her daughter, Cathleen O'Malley and her husband Christopher of Manalapan, one brother Fred Kuzma and his wife Joanna of Woodbridge and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday 9:00 am at the Mitruska Funeral Home, Inc., 531 New Brunswick Ave., Fords. Followed by a 9:30 am mass in the Good Shepherd Parish - Holy Rosary Church, Hopelawn. Interment will follow in the Cloverleaf Memorial Park Cemetery in Woodbridge. Visitation hours will be held Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to either the National Parkinson's Foundation, http://www.parkinsons.org, or to the American Parkinson Disease Association, 135 Parkinson Ave. Staten Island, NY 10305.
