Obituary of Anthony R. Thorik

Anthony Richard Thorik, 97, of Edison, passed away Sunday, September 11, 2016 at New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home in Edison. Mr. Thorik was born in Perth Amboy to the late Andrew and Amelia Thorik and had lived the last forty eight years in Edison. Mr. Thorik was a US Army Veteran of World War II serving in the South Pacific. He was employed as a bus driver for Roosevelt Hospital Edison before his retirement in 1995. Previously he had been employed as a truck driver for J.E. Hurley Lumber Co. in Perth Amboy. Mr. Thorik was a member of St. John Paul II Parish- St. Stephen's Church in Perth Amboy. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of fifty-eight years, Grace, in 2000. He was also predeceased by four brothers and three sisters. He is survived by his two daughters: Arleen Weber and husband Peter of Stamford, CT and Kathleen Thorik also of Stamford, CT,, his granddaughter, Valerie; two great grandsons, Evan and Caleb and his niece, Pamela. Funeral services were held under the direction Mitruska Funeral Home, Inc., 531 New Brunswick Ave., Fords. Interment took place in St. Stephen's Cemetery in Keasbey.
