Obituary of Helen T. Baumgartner

Helen T. Baumgartner, 94, of Perth Amboy, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at J.F.K. Medical Center in Edison. Born Helen Therese Stumpf to the late Anton and Elizabeth Stumpf on September 18, 1927 in Perth Amboy, NJ. She was a homemaker and resided in Perth Amboy her entire life. Helen was a member of the Hopelawn VFW Ladies' Auxiliary, and a communicant of the Our Lady of Hungary Church in Perth Amboy. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be greatly missed. Helen was predeceased by her beloved husband of forty-three years, Louis Baumgartner in 1991. She was also predeceased by her brother Michael Stumpf, her brother John Stumpf and his wife Mary, her sister Rose Glazer and her husband Frank, and her two nephews Joseph and George Glazer who were like brothers to her. She is survived by her loving and devoted son Gary L. Baumgartner Sr. of Fords, her grandson Gary L. Baumgartner Jr. and his wife Stephanie of Toms River, her granddaughter Carol L. Baumgartner of Whiting, her great granddaughter Hannalura Baumgartner of Toms River, and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 from 11 am until noon. Funeral services will begin at noon at the Mitruska Funeral Home 531 New Brunswick Ave. Fords. Interment will follow in the Our Lady of Hungary Cemetery also in Fords. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the National Federation of the Blind, Attn: Outreach, 200 East Wells Street at Jernigan Place, Baltimore, MD 21230 or through their website at nfb.org.
