Obituary of Mary J. Swist

Mary J. Swist, 91, of Woodbridge, passed away Friday, August 9, 2019 at the Roosevelt Care Center in Edison. Mrs. Swist was born in Logans Ferry, PA to the late John and Susan Ihnat and had previously lived in Fords before she moving to Woodbridge five years ago..

She was employed with Pathmark in Hopelawn as a cashier for five years before retiring in 1975. previously she worked as a cashier in many different places. mary was a member of the Most Holy Name of Jesus Parish - Holy Trinity Church, Perth Amboy and the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Assumption Senior Citizens Club.

She was predeceased by her husband Michael J. Swist in 1991, a son Michael Swist in 2007, a sister Anna Kroffe and four brothers John, Lawrence, Michael and Stephen.

She is survived by her son, Thomas Swist of Fords, a brother, Joseph Ihnat of Perth Amboy and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday 10:00 am at the Mitruska Funeral Home, Inc., 531 New Brunswick Ave., Fords. Interment will follow in the Holy Trinity Cemetery in Hopelawn. Visitation hours will be held Sunday from 7 to 9 pm.
